Exhibitions: "Art as Craft." Handicraft and Cultural Heritage

In association with the Camera di Commercio, Industria, Artigianato e Agricoltura di Firenze and in collaboration with the CNA Confederazione Nazionale dell'Artigianato e della Piccola e Media Impresa Firenze, Confartigianato Imprese Firenze e Realizzato da Artex Centro per l’Artigianato Artistico e Tradizionale della Toscana.
From 8 to 10 November 2012

An area devoted to the presentation and the appreciation of the Arts and Crafts techniques and productions that have their roots in the history and culture of our region (and beyond).
A real stage, whose main actors are skilled craftsmen with their exceptional skills handed down over the centuries, who without denying modernity and innovation, can contribute to a significant part of the new "cultural heritage" and new "decorative arts".
On the stage technical virtuosity devoted to the objects creation but which can also be used to create a concept of contemporary heritage, perhaps less appreciated but no less significant in representing the cultural and artistic consciousness of a society.
The public can attend demonstrations of: carving and gilding of wooden elements, jewellery works, working hard and semiprecious stones, canary seed, etc…
Project promoted by the Camera di Commercio di Firenze, CNA Firenze, Confartigianato Imprese Firenze and practically organised by Artex.
