Scientific methodologies and technological innovations for the protection and the recovery of historical heritage

Case studies and examples of success in the diagnosis, prevention and resolution of capillary rising damp in the UNESCO sites and in other prestigious sites in Italy .
Leonardo Solutions Srl
Friday November 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Sala Bianchi
Cavaniglia Pavilion, Fortezza da Basso, Florence
The capillary rising damp is one of the problems that occur more frequently in the restoration of buildings and structures of any age. The damages caused to the masonry, the negative effects on the accessibility of the places and the conservation of their artworks represents a problem whose solution is usually limited to the use of systems to counter and / or temporarily reduce the effects of the capillary rising damp. - Analyzing from an electrical- physical point of view the physical origin of the phenomenon, we come to explain how the electro physical technology through neutralization of charge Domodry ® goes to work directly on the causes of the problem, being able to neutralize it completely and permanently. During the meeting will be presented a series of case histories carried out in various UNESCO sites which were recently object of the recent conference on "Scientific methodologies and technological innovation for the protection and recovery of Cultural Heritage" to be held in Ragusa Ibla October 5, 2012 under the patronage of UNESCO, the Prime Ministers and MiBac.
Some other important case studies show finally how the effectiveness of Domodry ® technology in the solution of the problems arising out from " capillary rising damp " is not to be compared to any other system, traditional or not, currently used both in the conservation and restoration of historic buildings, and in the more general field of construction.
