Prevention, protection and pest control technology for the health of Art

The integrated pest management is a process which has the aim to control the woodworm treatments, in order to activate a process of prevention and protection in time of the artworks to be treated. Protecting over time works of art means to implement all actions needed to ensure the good health: prevention, pest control and maintenance. The concept of "care" of a artwork, already addressed in the cycle of conferences "The time of care" in 2010, is tightly integrated with that one of "diagnosis."
To care of an artwork means to be able to ensure its life time. Verified that an artwork is sick (infested), it is necessary to intervene with a project of prevention and protection (diagnosis) and retrieve it with the use of the most suitable pest control technologies (care). A proper design of integrated pest management plans, the application of environmentally technologies for the different types of artefacts and protection over time, are the actions which represent the most correct approach for an effective disinfestations treatment.
