The celebration for the 400th anniversary of Mattia Preti's birth in Malta

The meeting focuses on the presentation of the various cultural initiatives scheduled in the year 2013 in Malta and organised by various Institutions as: the Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs of Malta, the City of Valletta, the Committee for Valletta European capital of culture 2018, The Embassy of Italy in Malta, the Italian Institute of Culture, Heritage Malta, the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro di Firenze.
The event includes: the presentation of the book "Mattia Preti, architect", written by Iolanda Greco and published by Rubbettino, which is mostly based on the study of the Mattia Preti’s work in the Co-Cathedral of St. John in Malta;
The donation of a statue in full length of Mattia Preti, sculpted by Giuseppe Maria Pisani, a work that will be placed in one of the most prestigious areas of Valletta during the year of the Mattia Preti’s celebrations.
