Preventive conservation - Integration and Support in the process of restoration
CIART
Thursday, November 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. - Saletta Rosi
Cavaniglia Pavilion, Fortezza da Basso, Florence
The process of restoration aims at ensuring the continuity of life of a work of art. Such a process can not be separated from the concept of prevention. A serious prevention of artworks is possible thanks to a service of monitoring, carried out by specialized personnel, which could provide support and integration during the process of restoration as part of Cultural Heritage.
To apply the concepts of preventive conservation and long time protection to support the phases of a restoration means not only to have a sensitive approach to the protection of artworks, but also a cutting-edge and constantly updated knowledge at any of the stages of the various conservation steps.
