A Guideline for the management and evaluation actions of the UNESCO Italian cities and sites
UNESCO in collaboration with FEDERCULTURE
Thursday, 8 November from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Sala Tintori
The Association of Italian Heritage Unesco World Heritage with the support of Federculture has conducted a survey of Italian UNESCO sites associated with the association, in order to highlight the current problems of development and implementation of management plans in accordance with the methodology proposed by MiBac in 2004. The survey, carried out through the administration of two questionnaires and two thematic meetings that took place in Rome between March and October 2011 made it possible to highlight two fundamental issues that collect other structural problems in the integrated management of the sites.
On the one hand the sites complain about the need to think about the best management structures to support the drawn up plans, as they are often in difficulty in choosing between the legal forms and proposals as in the Italian law. On the other hand, they agree with the lack of communication between organizations dealing with the protection and management of the territory, but also with all those entities involved in UNESCO national policies which often operate without any real coordination of action and strategy.
It is therefore evidenced that the two issues can be summarized in a chronic structural inability of all entities in Italy to operate in an integrated way, taking advantage of the real capacity and prerogatives of each other, according to strategies continuously shared and continuously updated.
A first proposal of the survey was to place the Italian Association Heritage Unesco World Heritage in the role of facilitator in the communication between the entities " UNESCO " in Italy, in order to integrate policies and projects according to the strategies UNESCO
The meeting of communicating the outcomes of the project conducted jointly between the Association Italian Heritage Unesco World Heritage and Federculture will be marked by the intervention of the operators of the two institutions, with the aim to explain the path of the project. Therefore we will explain the reasons for the project proposal, the actions taken, the difficulties encountered in its implementation and the final results. A power point presentation will show the main stages of the project, the report and the expected results with the final proposals.
Finally will follow a small debate that will replicate any comments from the public. For the event is also planned to print the publication of the finally event report.
