The Centro Nazionale della Ricerca installation at the University Scientific Pole of Sesto Fiorentino was completed in June 2005. In the five buildings that constitute it, the Florence Research Area houses 6 Institutes and 5 Territorial Sections, in addition to important scientific structures such as the Laboratory for Meteorology and the Design and Construction of Environmental Models (LAMMA) and the Centre of Electronic Microscopies (CeME).
