The restoration of the paintings of the Church of Vivaio: Allegory of the Immaculate Conception by Fabrizio Boschi

A large scale 17th century painting, partially repainted, revealed, during the restoration process carried out in the laboratories of Incisa Valdarno, that the painter was Fabrizio Boschi, an important Florentine painter. It will be also discovered a very rare preliminary drawing of this work. The recovery of the original legibility of this complex artwork, (in terms of techniques of construction and state of deterioration) was obtained through a difficult of competences harmonization work starting from the structure consolidation process to the cleaning operations and to the final pictorial in painting.
