Microconsult S.r.l. in collaborazione con Remet S.a.s. di Bologna
Friday November 12- from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sala Gaetano Bianchi
The visual methods has a very important role in contemporary diagnostic applied to conservation and restoration of cultural heritage. They give to the researcher the opportunity to read inside the sample, offering him a wide variety of useful information on the constitutive materials, their composition and the various techniques of construction used by artists.
In scientific literature exists a great documentation on the various sampling techniques, but sometimes it is forgotten or neglected the great importance of a correct preparation of samples: because if samples are altered by a not correct preparation the final result of the whole analysis can be false or not completely correct.
The variety of materials can complicate the sample’s preparation and in this sense this meeting has the main aim to clarify the matter about the more appropriate methodologies to be used in a correct sampling preparation.
