Wall decoration: history and craft of excellence
UIA International University of Art of Florence
Friday November 12- from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. - Talking Corner by Kermes. The magazine for restoration.
Among the end of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th century the wall decoration was very used and famous amongst people and artists. In the art books of the time there were a lot of techniques and technical reserved to the professional figures who worked in the field of tempera, frescoes or stuccoes decorations. Few years later this technique was abandoned and now that there is a new interest around the “internal decorations” there aren’t enough artists or professional workers in this field. The Università Internazionale dell’Arte decided to answer to this professional need by means of a new Course of Wall Decoration”. The course programme is divided in three sections: the idea of Decoration; the geometrical drawing; the wall decoration (execution of a real work).
Speakers: Fabrizio Bandini, Paola Cassinelli, Roberto Maestro, Isabella Pazzi
