Among the forms of art, the jewel of excellence

The word 'excellence' referred to jewels is used in case of handmade artefacts, created without using machines or electronic tools. Excellence artefacts have to be produced by using precious metals with or without gems. They have to be created as unique pieces or in limited edition. Goldsmith art is made of old and recent construction techniques which after the application of the final decorative motifs will create the final product, the jewel. What does really mean traditional handicraft, typical handicraft and art handicraft? The traditional handicraft preserves and uses the old traditional techniques of metal manufacturing and of jewels construction while the typical handicraft has some technical and formal specifications which can be referred to a particular territorial area. But when a traditional handicraft creation can be considered as an artwork or an art handicraft product? The answer can be summarized as follow: jewel have to be permeated of a mix of technical excellence and formal and innovative value and it has to be able to express by means of its style the character and the inspiration of the artist who conceived, designed and created it.
