Carl Brädde in collaboration with Konserveringscentret i Vejle, Denmark
Friday November 12- from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Sala Leonetto Tintori
Preserving museal collections following standards approved methodologies is very important for the future of our cultural heritage artworks. The climatic conditions of the storage ambient have an essential role but it has high costs in terms of money and of energy consumption.
In the restoration centre of Vejle, in Denmark, there is a deposit with a climate condition properly studied for the various types of materials which is used by 16 museums and archives.
It was built by using the criteria of the ' Passive acclimatisation ' and it obtained a significant reduction of the energy costs in a very eco-friendly ambient. The meeting presents a description of the main characteristics of the deposit and the potential advantages of this technique.
Speaker: Carl Brädde, restorer at the restoration centre of Øhavsmuseet, Denmark Bevaringscenter Øst, Danimarca and at the Konserveringscentret i Vejle, Denmark
